
La Salle tops Voorheesville
Cadets improve to 10-2 with 20-point win; Wood's lay-up gets Argyle to 9-3

La Salle improved to 10-2 overall and 9-1 in the Colonial Council with a 59-39 victory over host Voorheesville on Wednesday in a boys' basketball contest.
Ian Duncan scored a game-high 17 points and Joe DeLollo added 13 points for the Cadets, who raced out to a 31-18 halftime lead and never looked back.
Frank Tedesco and Jack Murray had eight points apiece to lead Voorheesville, which fell to 5-7 and 4-6 in league play.
More boys' basketball: Gabe Wood's lay-up with just 38 seconds left on the clock lifted Argyle to a 47-46 win over visiting Fort Ann in an Adirondack League game. Peyton Lufkin led the Scots, who moved to 9-3 overall and 7-2 in the Adirondack, with 16 points. Luke Loso had 14 points for Fort Ann, which fell to 6-7. ... Boone Lynch poured in 26 to give Duanesburg a slim 65-64 victory over host Middlesburgh. C.J. Singer scored 22 points to lead the Middlesburgh offense.
Girls' basketball: Charli Goverski dropped in 22 to help Mechanicville cruise past Waterford, 72-30, in a Wasaren League game at Waterford. Sam Pasinella added 16 for the Red Raiders, who climbed to 8-3 and 6-3 in league games. Emily Kelley scored 11 for Waterford, which dipped to 4-6 and 3-6 in the Wasaren. ... Harmony Philo scored 24 points to lead Gloversville to a 61-58 win at Hudson Falls. Naesha Kelley, Brinley Inglee and Jana DePalo all had 12 points each for Hudson Falls.
Girls' bowling: Mohonasen topped Bethlehem, 19-13, in a Suburban Council match-up. The Mighty Warriors won by just 61 pins, 3,386 to 3,325. Elizabeth Ross rolled a 250 high-game and a 698 series to lead Mohonasen. Melanie Lemke had a 268 single and a 711 single for Bethlehem.
Wrestling: Saratoga Springs coasted to a 51-25 win over Mohonasen in a Suburban clash. Antonio Encarnacion (99-pounds), Griffin Biviano (106) and Jordan Sartin (113) all had wins by fall to lead the Blue Streaks.
Gymnastics: Bethlehem nipped Shaker, 154.30-152.85 in a Suburban meet. Alison Gray of Bethlehem had the top all-around score of 32.55.
