Covered van slams into motorcycle killing two in Dhaka

Two people died and one suffered injuries when a covered van slammed into a motorcycle in Dhaka’s Gendaria.

The dead have been identified as 27-year-old Salauddin Rahel and 26-year-old Russel Akon.

Gendaria police OC Mizanur Rahman said the three friends were riding a motorcycle when a covered van hit them around 2am Thursday near ayurvedic drugstore Shadhana in Swamibag.

Rahel and Russel were declared dead after being rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital while their friend Md Hanna is under treatment there, he told bdnews24.com.

Police detained the driver of the covered van.
