NIA files terror charges against Kashmir separatists

The (NIA) on Thursday filed charges under a stringent against jailed seven Kashmiri separatist leaders and Pakistan-based terrorist leaders and

In all, the agency named 12 accused in its nearly 13,000-page chargesheet who can be tried under the non-bailable Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act which entails punishment of seven years in jail if the charges are proven.

They have been accused of "conspiring to wage war against the government of by carrying out terrorist and secessionist activities in Jammu and Kashmir".

The chargesheet was filed in the court of who is expected to take up the matter post lunch.

Those named as the accused include Syed Ali Shah Geelani's Altaf Shah, and two stone-pelters.
