Will today be the day Alexis Sanchez signs for Manchester United?
Journalists in Chile certainly think so. Some news outlets claim the deal will be agreed today which means the Chilean striker would be available to face Burnley in the Premier League fixture on Saturday.
Reports also claim Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be wearing an Arsenal shirt by the weekend.
Jose Mourinho has already confirmed he could leave the club and the Armenian could be tempted by the move to north London to get more game-time.
In other news, Mourinho could sign a new deal in the coming days and David De Gea could also agree new terms as United fight to fend off Real Madrid.
But a return for Cristiano Ronaldo looks unlikely as Zinedine Zidane says he cannot imagine Real Madrid without the Portuguese star.

Tuanzebe mocking Lingard
Yes, it’s that picture again.
Tuanzebe has posted it this time and taking the opportunity to mock Jesse Lingard.
Wonder if that made it on to his Instagram story.

Martin Keown: Sanchez is football's biggest mercenary
Martin Keown writes in the Daily Mail:
“Sanchez has got to be the biggest mercenary in football.
“Manchester City have wanted to sign Sanchez since the summer and, if no deal is done in January, they will be waiting for him at the end of the season.
“City would be the natural place for Sanchez to go to develop his football. He has worked with Pep Guardiola before.
“But for Sanchez, this is clearly not about going to the best team, working with Guardiola and taking his game to another level.
“He has probably thought that he will not get a better offer if he waits until the summer, so he might as well take the best deal on offer now. It has been all about the money.”
What an absolute load of nonsense.
Carrick leaving Carrington
Perhaps not the shot the photographers are desperate for at Carrington today.

Mesut Ozil sends a message
Meanwhile, spare a thought for Mesut Ozil. While everyone else is waiting for Sanchez to make the move he wanted, the German is in the gym with a telling message.

The Arsenal view on Sanchez
Hold on, stop proceedings. Some young players are having fun on Instagram. Stay at Arsenal, it isn’t worth this.
Can’t see it, somehow.
Sanchez 'update'
According to Di Marzio:
It’s now a matter of hours.
Arsene Wenger said that this morning. It remains the case.

The next United vs City 'transfer saga'
Sanchez isn’t even official yet.
Adidas printing Sanchez shirts
A word of caution on this - which has got lots of United fans very excited - they will print a name on a shirt if you ask. It doesn’t mean anything about an official confirmation. Although things are getting closer.
Private jet spotting can begin
It wouldn’t be a transfer window without a private jet or two. United have apparently got one on standby.
Sanchez shirt spotted
The first United Sanchez shirt? This is via twitter user @fanda2703 and was printed in the Adidas store at Oxford Street.

Sanchez solves Woodward's concern
In the minds of Mourinho - and Ed Woodward - United could hardly pick a better choice to fill it.
That it has been allowed to lie vacant for so long is both curious and a measure of the difficulty in finding a player capable of doing it justice.
The No7 has been conspicuous by its absence on any Mourinho team sheet since Memphis Depay’s £15m move to Lyon 12 months ago.
Has Lingard given away Bailly's return?
Unfortunately not. The training top is for the number three but the man wearing it appears to be Marcos Rojo, rather than the usual number three Bailly.

This is how desperate Lucas Moura's agent is
He has probably said United are interested when they are not interested.

“Enjoy the medical.”

United have just over 24 hours to sign Sanchez
If he is to figure against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday. Just to remind you all, the deadline for newly-signed players to be registered by in order to play for their clubs at the weekend is noon on Friday.

BREAKING Sanchez update
He has also been pictured at the Arsenal training ground this morning.
It is business as usual for the two players involved in this protracted swap deal.

Mkhitaryan could still scupper the deal
He has hardly shown up for big games, too, so he may not fare well in an Arsenal-United arrangement.
Has Eddie changed his mind?
A marvellously curated tweet before Sanchez rejected City in favour of moving to United.
BREAKING: Mkhitaryan is at Carrington
The Armenian has just been pictured arriving at the United training ground, so he is still not en route to London.
United 'prepare transport for Sanchez'
This Chilean journalist writes:
“Family, friends and near[est and dearest?] of Alexis Sanchez are in England to be present at the presentation at Manchester United... United aircraft (charter) is waiting to take Mkhitaryan from Manchester to London and thus return to Manchester with Alexis.”
