ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — A judge has found a former Army soldier guilty in the fatal shooting of a bystander who tried to make a citizen's arrest after the serviceman shot and wounded his wife in a Dallas-area parking lot.

A judge in Fort Worth found 24-year-old Ricci Bradden guilty of murder Wednesday in the 2016 death of 35-year-old Anthony "T.J." Antell. Bradden was also found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He'll be sentenced Thursday.

Police have said Antell, a former Marine, saw Bradden shoot at his wife's feet during an argument outside of a Walgreens, striking her once. Police have said Antell then retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and confronted Bradden, but Bradden slapped it away and then fatally shot Antell.

Bradden claimed self-defense.
