Telefonica is set to once again increase the price of its Movistar-branded mobile contract tariffs in exchange for more data starting on 18 February, reports ADSL Zone. In what is becoming an annual move, the price of its Movistar Tarifa #6, #10 and #20 will rise by EUR 3, while Movistar Tarifa #2 will increase by EUR 2 a month. To justify the hike, the operator will add 1 GB more data to the basic tariff, 2 GB to Movistar Tarifa #6 and an extra 5 GB to Tarifa #10 and #20.

The company has been applying a ‘more for more’ policy of hiking its prices in exchange for improved offers in the form of more mobile data or higher speeds since January 2015. It’s also set to increase the price of the majority of its Movistar Fusion convergent packages while doubling the fibre connection speed.
