A CASH point in Trimdon Village has been out of action since it was targeted in a "ram-raid" on Boxing Day.

The service was suspended following the incident, described by police as a "ram-raid" at the Co-op store which left the shutters damaged and entrance doors smashed.

However, Trimdon Parish Council clerk Anne Delandre has confirmed the service should be up and running next week.

Following a request to the council regarding the reinstatement of the cash point, Ms Delandre investigated and was told the suspension remained due to the insecure shutter and doors.

She said the shutter was due to be delivered tomorrow and the new doors were expected to be delivered next week.

"Hopefully it will be up and running next week," added Ms Delandre.
