09:43: Arsene Wenger wants Jack Wilshere to sign a new Arsenal contract.

“That’s what we’re trying to do.”
09:35: Arsene Wenger has opened up on Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester United… well, kind of.
Wenger was asked in his Arsenal press conference today about Sanchez.
He was short in his answers but did confirm the transfer is likely to take place.
“It can happen, it can as well not happen. It is as that stage,” Wenger said.
Asked if Sanchez will ever play for the Gunners again, he replied: “Yes. If it doesn’t happen he will play on Saturday.
“(The transfer) is likely to happen. But any minute things can break down.
“That’s how the transfer market is. These things are never guaranteed.”
09:15: Arsene Wenger was asked about Manchester United’s plan to pay Alexis Sanchez £500,000 a week.
“I wouldn’t like to come out on the numbers, that’s a United problem,” he said.
“I respect United because they generate the money they pay by their own resources.
“United is a club very well managed financially and of course on the pitch so that’s why I don’t have any problem with the money they pay.”

Sanchez, in reality, looks set to sign for United with Old Trafford outcast Henrikh Mkhitaryan going in the opposite direction.
08:20: Manchester United must register Alexis Sanchez before midday on Friday if he is to make his debut this weekend against Burnley.
Premier League rules state players must be registered by 12 noon on the day before a match, in order to be eligible to play.
