A Medford woman is behind bars after she allegedly stole thousands of dollars from a trio of local restaurants in Medford and Ashland.

Cassie Amber Soliz, 32, was arraigned Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court on aggravated theft and burglary charges for a string of break-ins apparently targeting Asian restaurants between October and December of last year..

During an Oct. 26 break-in, Soliz is accused of making off with a safe containing more than $16,000 worth of cash and money orders from the Golden Wok in Medford, according to court documents filed by Medford police. Much of the money was recovered four days later, after Phoenix police found her passed out in her car with $14,316 in cash, as well as $5,000 in money orders.

In December, Soliz allegedly burglarized two Ashland restaurants a day apart: House of Thai and Yuan Yuan Restaurant.

Soliz allegedly threw heavy rocks in both the Dec. 7 House of Thai and Dec. 8 Yuan Yuan restaurant burglaries, according to court documents filed by Ashland police. The woman caught on surveillance camera footage was seen taking $150 from House of Thai's register and $900 from Yuan Yuan wore the same distinctive outfit in both crimes, but covered her face. Clothes she wore included dark Vans-style skate shoes with a white border and a trio of distinctive rings.

A break came after the owner recognized the rings as similar to ones Soliz wore playing video poker at Yuan Yuan.

Ashland police posted video stills from the Yuan Yuan footage on social media Dec. 11, leading to several tips, including one from Soliz's father, according to court documents.

Soliz was arrested Tuesday afternoon outside the Grants Pass Walmart store, according to Medford police.

At the time of her arrest, Soliz was with a male suspect whose involvement police are still investigating. He has not yet been identified.

Circuit Court Judge Lisa Greif set Soliz's bail at $100,000 Wednesday — $75,000 in the aggravated theft case and $25,000 on a pending charge of delivering heroin. As of Wednesday evening, she remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
