MOUNT PLEASANT — The Iowa Wesleyan women’s basketball team took the early lead, fell behind, then rallied for a 61-58 victory over MacMurray in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game in Ruble Arena Wednesday night.

IWU started the game on an 8-0 run. MacMurray battled back and took a 45-42 lead entering the fourth quarter.

IWU's Josie Zerrusen sank two free throws and Darby Massner followed with a jumper to tie the game at 48. The teams would trade the lead before Allie Massner gave the Tigers a four-point lead with a 3-pointer.

Darby Massner finished with five 3-pointers and a team-high 27 points. The Tigers (3-13, 3-5) host Spalding on Jan. 24.

MEN

IWU 88. MacMurray 80

MOUNT PLEASANT — Iowa Wesleyan bounced back from a halftime deficit to defeat MacMurray in a St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game at Ruble Arena.

The Tigers trailed 40-36 at halftime.

Iowa Wesleyan's Mitchell Drey led five Tigers in double figures with 26 points. Brock Butler scored 18, Elijah Johnson and Jake Neubauer each had 14 points and Camron Mack came off the bench for 10 points. Drey had eight rebounds, six assists and two blocked shots.

Kendall Davis led MacMurray with 21 points. Brent Long had 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Iowa Wesleyan improved to 3-13 overall and 3-6 in the SLIAC. MacMurray is 6-10 (2-7).
