Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the State Government will make every possible effort to protect farmers' interests in the State. He further said that irrigation area has become 40 lakh hectare in the State and it will be further increased.
He was addressing the villagers and farmers present in large number in Antodaya Mela organized during the Vikas Yatra at Tarana of Ujjain district on Wednesday.
He announced that sufficient irrigation arrangement will be made for each village of Tarana tahsil, water will be taken from Narmada-Gambhir Project in this connection. He further mentioned that a separate irrigation scheme will be prepared for the left out villages. Chouhan performed bhoomi poojan and dedicated construction works costing Rs 282 crore in Antodaya Mela. Moreover, he transferred about Rs 80 crore in the bank accounts of approximately 75,000 farmers of Ujjain district on this occasion.
Chouhan mentioned that every poor person of Madhya Pradesh will have his/her own residential plot and house. Informing about the schemes being implemented in the state for the welfare of the farmers, he stated that the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yohana has been lauded at the national level. Delegations of several states have visited Madhya Pradesh to study the scheme. He expressed hope that the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana will prove beneficial for the farmers.
houhan announced to grant tehsil status to Makdon during the Antodaya Mela.Along with this, he announced for rejuvenations of 11 ponds of the area, approval for Ghonsla-Karedi Mata -Shajapur road, I.TI. at Tarana, krishi upaj mandi status to Makdon up-krishi upaj mandi, for starting commerce faculty in Makdon College, sanctioning of necessary amount for infrastructure development in Tarana krishi upaj mandi, sanction for construction of roads for connectivity of various village of the area, survey of Borkhedi dam, approval of necessary amount for advocates union, to solve the potable problem in village Godri, Tejlakhedi and Kathdi besides approval of Mukhya Mantri Pay-Jal yojana in the villages with more than one thousand population.
