First list of candidates to be declared on February 15

The deadline for parents looking to admit their children (below six years of age) into entry-level classes in private unaided recognised schools of Delhi ended on Wednesday.

The applicants will now have to wait till February 15 for the first list of candidates to be declared. The application process for over one lakh nursery seats in private schools began on December 27 for general category applicants. Applications for the EWS category, which makes up 25% of the seats, are scheduled to open next week.

Point system

Schools have time till February 1 to upload details of children who applied for admission and till February 10 to upload marks according to the point system to each of the applicant.

Parents will then have till February 20 to raise queries regarding the points allotted to their wards, and a second list will be released on February 28.

According to the Directorate of Education, the draw of lots, if any, will be conducted in a transparent manner in presence of parents. All eligible parents of students in draw of lots will be informed well in advance by the school and will be videographed. A schools will also have to upload the details of children who are on the wait list as well.

Admission process will close on March 31.
