AISECT to impart training to unemployed SC youth

It inks pact with AP Skill Development Corporation

AISECT, social enterprise functioning in the skill development space, has joined hands with AP State Skill Development Corporation for imparting training to 120 unemployed Scheduled Caste youth in Nandyal, Guntur and Chittoor.

Along with this, the organisation will help in implementing the recommendations of ‘Recognition of Prior Learning by affiliating 500 candidates in Nellore, Visakhapatnam, Chittoor, Guntur and East Godavari districts.

As per the current mandate, AISECT will train 30 candidates as medical youth representatives and 30 candidates as general duty assistants in Nandyal of Kurnool district, 30 candidates as retail associates in Chittoor and 30 candidates as retail associates in Guntur. The training, scheduled to commence from Junuary 20, aims to reduce poverty and vulnerability of the backward castes by providing them access to gainful skilled wage employment opportunities, through trainings in relevant sectors.

The second partnership between AISECT and APSSDC comes in line with implementing recommendations of ‘Recognition of Prior Learning’. A scheme by the Central government, RPL is aimed at helping people to move from non-formal market to organized market through assessment of the concerned person’s industrial expertise

Under this agreement, AISECT has been selected as Project Implementation Agency for evaluating 200 skilled sewing machine operators (level 4) in Nellore and Visakhapatnam districts, 100 CCTV installation technicians (level 4) in Chittoor and 200 jewellery retail sales associates (level 4) in Guntur and East Godavari districts.

Scheduled to start from January 20, all candidates will undergo a 12 hours training and assessment, wherein their acquired skills will be tested, post clearance of which, they will be eligible for formal skills certificate and reward money from APSSDC.
