Very light to light rain/snow has been forecast at isolated places in the higher reaches of Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts, while the climate would remain dry in the rest of the State on Thursday.
Besides, shallow to moderate fog engulfed some places in the plains of Uttarakhand on Wednesday and the same would continue for the next few days, according to the weathermen.
It was cold in Dehradun on Wednesday as the minimum temperature kept hovering around 5 degree Celsius. Meteorological centre director Bikram Singh said that on Wednesday, the maximum temperature and minimum temperatures were recorded at 23.2 degree Celsius, four notches above the normal, and 5.4 degree Celsius, one notch below the normal, respectively in Dehradun.
In Mukteshwar, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 16.4 degree Celsius, four notches above the normal, and 5.8 degree Celsius four notches above the normal. In Tehri, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded were 16.6 degree Celsius and 6.0 degree Celsius respectively.
In Pantnagar, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 22.8 degree Celsius, three notches above the normal, and 1.5 degree Celsius, four notches below the normal, he said, adding the weather forecast for Uttarakhand on Thursday is partly cloudy sky with possibility of mist/haze enveloping some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 23 degree Celsius and six degree Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Thursday.
Highest maximum temperature of the state 23.2°C was recorded in Dehradun while the lowest minimum temperature -2.2°C was recorded at Matela in Almora district. Shallow/moderate fog is likely to occur in some parts of the plains, especially in Udham Singh Nagar district, during the next 24 hours, Singh added.
