Liverpool winger Sadio Mane makes a Reds fan’s day after getting lost in London

LIVERPOOL forward Sadio Mane took advantage of a couple of days downtime by travelling down to London today – but his trip quickly ran into trouble only minutes after arriving in the capital.

The Senegalese speedster played a pivotal role in the Reds’ thrilling 4-3 win over Man City on Sunday, scoring the third goal with a rocket into the top corner just after the hour mark.

But with Liverpool not in action again until Swansea on Monday night, the 25-year-old grabbed the opportunity to head down to the capital for some downtime.

And after hopping off a train from Merseyside, he made one Liverpool supporter’s day, asking for directions to his destination.

“When you're at work having a dull day and a nice voice asks 'I'm lost, can you help?’,” Twitter user Taj234 wrote alongside a video of the smiling forward.

His timeline was quickly flooded with fellow Liverpool fans asking where Mane was headed – but he remained tight-lipped, offering only a few details about their chat.

“Spending an unexpected 30 mins with your favourite footballer by accident, surreal,” he continued.

“He was lost, so I took him to the place where he's staying, spoke about the team, us(fans)– said we will be excited when Keita comes, a few things.

“We spoke about Phil also – he was talking in confidence, he's gone now.

“He asked me if I had kids, where I lived etc…”

It comes after under-fire stopper Simon Mingolet pledged his future to the Liverpool amid uncertainty about his future at the club.

The Belgian has fallen out of favour in recent weeks but said he remains committed to the team.
