LORE CITY — Shirley A. Skora, 80 of Lore City, passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at her home. She had lost her sixth battle with cancer that she had been fighting since in 1982.
Shirley was born in Cook County, Illinois, a daughter of the late Eugene Charles Pinkerton and Alice Georgie (Murray) Pinkerton.
Shirley was a family woman. She was a hard working single mother who worked as a waitress all her life. She loved crocheting and made many blankets, pillows, dolls and doll dresses.
Shirley is survived by two sons, Martin D. (Mollie) Ballauer of Lore City and Jeffery W. (Shannon) Zbilut of Chicago; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters; a brother; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sisters.
