Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield speechless as guest insults them

THIS Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were gobsmacked after Anne Hegerty's shock snub.

member spoke to the about her new show Britain's Brightest Family.

Anne is better known as The Governess on The Chase and for her steely, take-no-prisoners persona.

And it seems she sometimes lets the slip in her day-to-day life too, thanks to her time on the This Morning sofa.

While she usually takes on The Chase contestants, today the 59-year-old took a swipe at Holly, 26, and Phil, 55.

Phil asked what Bradley Walsh said about Anne's new show, as she usually works with him on The Chase.

Anne said: "He was delighted. I didn't say anything to him, but he said to me, 'I've heard about your new gig, congratulations!' and I said, 'Honestly, Brad, I've learnt from the best. And nobody can be as good as Brad, no offence."

Phil was left with his jaw on the floor by the jab while Holly managed to stifle a laugh.

Joking along, Phillip exclaimed: "Wow! That came from nowhere. Well, thanks for coming on the show."

Anne then seemed to annoy the directors, who slowly let her go completely out of focus before bringing her back.

She said: "It was fascinating having the thing in your ear and talking to directors because we don't.

"It turns out Bradley has the director in his ear all the time."

Phil told her: "They're controlling the shots now so gradually, shot-by-shot, you'll drift off. Upset the directors and see what happens."

Anne also revealed some backstage secrets – and she really does take The Chase as seriously as you'd think.

She said: "I have been known to come back down those steps and kick the set, a bit that won't break.

"Sometimes things just went wrong and I can't get the answers up to my brain in time.

"It's frustrating because it's our reputations up there. We don't want to look foolish."
