Police are searching for the gunman who shot a man in the groin outside of a South Side bar following a contentious round of pool.

The suspect and victim arrived to the River City Saloon in the 1400 block of Southwest Military Drive Tuesday night and began playing pool.

Police said the men began arguing while playing pool, and the managers at the bar kicked them out around 11:15 p.m.

Within 10 minutes of kicking them out, bar employees heard gunfire and ran outside to find the victim, a 28-year-old man, with a gunshot wound to his groin, according to officials.

Paramedics came to the scene and took him to San Antonio Military Medical Center for treatment.

Police said the suspect is a 20- to 21-year-old black man. Employees saw him flee the bar on foot and get picked up by a driver in a Ford Explorer.
