Snow ending, BLACK ICE LIKELY TONIGHT

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

As the snow wraps up, we’ll see roads become icy. Expect black ice late this evening and into the morning commute on Thursday. Conditions improve Thursday afternoon.

We’re see 3-6 inches of snow across the mountains, while 1-3 inches had been common in the Upstate.

Highs today will stay at or below freezing, so expect roads to gradually worsen even though the snow had ended. Lows will drop down to 12-14 in the Upstate and 7-10 in the mountains. This will cause a solid sheet of ice on many roads, including primary ones that aren’t treated.

Thursday will bring sunshine and temps rising above freezing by noon. Snow will melt, but could potentially refreeze again Thursday night in spots.

Friday we’re back in the 50s with sunshine, so that should dry up what is left of the moisture. Saturday and Sunday look fantastic with highs in the 50s and 60s under sunshine. Our next chance for rain comes Monday late day.
