Animal Welfare finds 300 chickens, pigeons, rabbits, cats in substandard conditions

In a joint enforcement operation, officials from the Directorate of Animal Welfare found over 300 chickens, roosters, pigeons, rabbits and 33 parrots in substandard conditions.

The operation took place today after the Animal Welfare department was asked to provide officers to assist in a coordinated enforcement mission in Mriehel.

The directorate will be keeping the animals temporarily in order to provide care and treatment. It was stressed that there are no plans to put any of the animals to sleep.
