Punjab Government is all set to organise the second round of state-level job fairs in government and private institutions across the state from February 20 to March 8.
“Job Fairs would be inaugurated by the state Cabinet Ministers at four different places on February 20. After the completion of job fairs, the appointment letters would be given to the selected youth by the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh during a Mega Job Fair which would be held at Ludhiana,” said the state’s Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday while presiding over a meeting to chalk out the plan for organising the job fairs.
In principle, it has been decided that the Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal would inaugurate the fair at Bathinda, Health Minister Brahm Mohindra at Patiala and Education Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary at Amritsar and Technical Education Minister at Chandigarh University, Gharuan.
Channi said that the Punjab government is working with utmost sincerity to provide jobs and employment to the youth of the state. “This year, the Punjab Government is inviting more than 2000 companies to provide employment during the job fairs. Apart from this, all the small, medium and large industrial units of the state are also being motivated to join these fairs to provide jobs to the state’s youth,” he said.
“This year, the ambit of job fairs is also being increased. In these fairs, besides the technical education, department of employment generation, medical education and Higher education are also being made partners,” he said.
