Chief Minister inaugurates 50-bed hospital at Gajwel and inspects work

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s scheduled visit to Murkook mandal headquarters was cancelled at the last minute for reasons best known to the authorities . The Chief Minister was supposed to address a grama sabha and interact with villagers and discuss development activities.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao was reportedly agitated at being obstructed by two activists of Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) at Gajwel. Though it was for less than two minutes, it was loss of face for the administration . Even before the activist N. Krishna obstructed the convoy he was overpowered and pushed into a police vehicle. Police have also arrested another person B. Simhachalam in connection with the incident .

Soon after this incident, the officials announced at Murkook village that the programme of the Chief Minister was cancelled due to ‘unavoidable reasons.’

Earlier in the day, Mr. Rao inaugurated a 50-bed hospital at the mandal headquarters town.

Addressing a gathering, he announced sanctioning of CC roads for the town, degree college, beautification of Pedda Cheruvu, Vaikunta Dhamam and 500 double-bedroom houses. He also promised to visit Toopran again during his two-day constituency visit and interact with the public . The Chief Minister also examined the ongoing construction work of vegetable market, hospital, stadium, education hub, MLA camp office and other establishments and wanted the work to be expedited. He also reportedly expressed displeasure over the quality of work for double bedroom houses.

Health Minister Lakshma Reddy, Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender Reddy, Lok Sabha member K. Prabhakar Reddy, MLCs Farooq Hussain and Sudhakar Reddy and others were present.

Second Yadadri

While returning from Toopran to Gajwel, the Chief Minister stopped at Nacharam Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple and had darshan. He has also examined the master plan of the temple and promised to develop it as second Yadadri.

Since Tuesday night, the police have reportedly arrested scores of TDP activists as they planned to stage a protest against the arrest of party leader Vanteru Pratap Reddy.
