WITH Michael 'Buddy' Hart and Liam Dunn returning to Orara Valley for the 2018 Group 2 season, it brings back together a group of Tomahawks who played their junior football together.

The current squad suggests there'll be eight Orara Valley juniors playing in the Axemen's first grade team this year but with Hart and Dunn returning to the club from Coffs Harbour, it means they will join Alex Bunt and Cody Berry as four players from the junior team.

For 'Buddy', it's the continuation a proud family tradition with the Hart name synonymous with Orara Valley.

"I've played most of my life at Orara and I felt like now was the right time to come back,” he said.

"I've obviously got a lot of family here and to come back is something special to me becaue of my Pop who passed away a couple of years ago and coming back continues the family legacy.”

Having been a legend of the club, Brad Hart said he can't wait to head to Coramba Sportsground this year and watch the Hart name wearing the green and gold again.

"From my perspective, I left there in 2006 and I didn't think the boys would go back there and play,” Brad said.

"My old man got me out there in '92 so I was there for 15 years, a life member and it's a really good family club.”

Dunn said getting back together with his junior mates has him excited for the year ahead.

"We grew up playing together out at the Tomahawks as young juniors. I was with Coffs for five years and I thought this was the change,” Liam said.

"It was time to go back and put myself out there and prove to myself that I can play in first grade. Col (Speed) is doing an awesome job out there and so's everyone else at the club and it's just a friendly vibe.”

Having Col Speed as coach of the Axemen appears to be a move that has the club heading in the right direction according to Buddy.

"I've wanted to come back for the last couple of years but it just didn't seem right because I feel like there wasn't a lot of culture at the time but now Col Speed has come back I feel like everyone is starting to lift,” he said.
