WATCH: Eagles' NFC Championship practice highlights | Nick Foles, Nigel Bradham, Rasul Douglas

PHILADELPHIA -- As promised by head coach Doug Pederson, the Eagles donned their pads and kicked off NFC Championship Game week with an extra physical practice in preparation for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings at Lincoln Financial Field

The Eagles began the week leading up to Saturday's 15-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons in full pads, as well, and Pederson said Wednesday that he hopes the extra physicality sets the tone for his team this week.

"Pads again," Pederson said prior to Wednesday's practice at the NovaCare Complex. "I think it's important this time of year that you maintain that sense of and that level of physicality in practice for one day. So nothing changes from that standpoint. We just go about our business and prepare like we normally would."

Wednesday's practice got off to a fast start when Rasul Douglas delivered a big hit during a special teams drill that sent emotions soaring.

One of the challenges that the Eagles must prepare for this week, is neutralizing Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer's exotic blitz packages

"He's run it in a lot of places he's been," Pederson said. "And it's hard in the aspect of sometimes you don't know where everybody is coming from. He'll present a normal, six-man box with it. He'll present a seven-man. He'll present an eight-man and you just have to try to sort it all out. It's tough to defend and puts a lot of quick pressure on your quarterback and something that we have to spend some time working on."
