Verizon Digital Media Services expands CDN to Mexico, S. Africa, France

Verizon's digital media platform Verizon Digital Media Services announced international expansion plans for its Edgecast Content Delivery Network (CDN). The company recently launched new points of presence (PoPs) in Mexico and South Africa, and has plans to open a 'Super PoP' in France in Q1 2018. 

At present, the Edgecast CDN comprises more than 125 PoPs spanning 56 countries across six continents, and has increased network capacity by more than 200 percent. Verizon said it remains committed to investing and building out its CDN to ensure the best experience across gaming, application acceleration, e-commerce, media and entertainment, and more.
