Conte sent demand by former Chelsea star
17:00: Chelsea boss Antonio Conte must keep Eden Hazard happy after missing out on the expected signing of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United, according to ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley.
Conte has substituted star man Hazard in two of those games, including in the 58th minute of the Premier League stalemate with Leicester.
The Italian was yesterday asked why he kept taking Hazard off in matches and replied by saying keeping players happy only seems to be an issue in England.
Burley cannot understand Antonio Conte’s point of view and says with Alvaro Morata’s recent poor form and the failed Sanchez chase, he must keep Hazard on his side.
“I don’t get this, and he’s not the first manager, I don’t get this ‘only here in England is it important’. What utter garbage,” Burley said.
“Every country around the world if you take your star player off and your team is struggling and it’s not long after half time, then no matter what country that you are playing in, the fans are going to question it and the media are going to question it.
“If you’re not going to sign Alexis Sanchez in the transfer window, and it doesn’t look likely, then you need to make sure Eden Hazard is a happy camper because Alvaro Morata is falling over his own feet at the moment and he doesn’t fancy Michy Batshuayi.”

No deal for Richarlison
16:30: Chelsea have NOT made an approach for Watford star Richarlison, reports claim.
The Blues, along with Premier League rivals Arsenal, were linked with a January swoop for the 20-year-old Brazilian talent.
But the Watford Observer understand there has been no formal contact from either club.
The newspaper continue to add that Marco Silva’s side are likely to lose Richarlison in the summer, 12 months after paying Fluminense £11.5million for his services.
Batshuayi to replace Aubameyang
16:00: Borussia Dortmund are plotting a sensational move for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi as a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang… if the Gabon star joins Arsenal.
Arsenal are in talks with Dortmund over a deal for Aubameyang this month.
The Gunners themselves are desperate to sign a replacement striker if Alexis Sanchez competes his move to Manchester United.
And Chelsea are ready to offload Batshuayi.
That is according to German newspaper Bild, who claim Aubameyang’s move to Arsenal should be completed ‘in the coming days’.
Chelsea themselves were interested in landing Sanchez but could find themselves one striker light after this transfer window.
First, though, United need to sign Sanchez. Only then will Arsenal push for Aubameyang, with Batshuayi then lined up to head to the Bundesliga.
No move for Andy
15:30: David Moyes may have publicly denied that he is aware of a Chelsea bid for Andy Carroll, however West Ham bosses are willing to listen to offers of £20 million, according to Sky Sports.
The striker was absent from the squad for the Hammers' 1-0 FA Cup replay win over League One side Shrewsbury last night, however the manager insisted this was down to an ankle injury.
Speculation that the 29-year-old could go to Stamford Bridge on loan came as Antonio Conte was said to be looking to enhance their attacking capability. The Daily Telegraph says Chelsea have contacted West Ham about signing him permanently during the January window.
