This little dog was found tied to a lamp-post after cruelly being set on fire.

He is unable to see out of one eye after his ordeal as a puppy in Romania, where he was found, and he is missing fur on one half of his body that wont grow back because of his tragic past.

But after black and white Shih Tzu Tony was rescued from his plight, he is now the latest resident at Hull and Animal Welfare Trust.

The shelter is now appealing for a loving owner to give little Tony a forever-home.

The four-year-old has been described as a "happy little dog" who "loves fusses and cuddles."

The trust, based in South Cave, are appealing for owners with no pets or children to come forward as he is nervous.

In a post on their Facebook page, the Trust said: "He is such a happy little dog who loves fusses and cuddles.

"He cannot see out of one eye but this does not seem to bother him. He would need a home without children as he is a little frightened of them and he is not keen on other dogs so would probably need to be the only dog in the home.

"Could you give him a new home where he can have a happy ever after?"

The Hull and Animal Welfare Trust are also appealing for someone to adopt old-timer Finn who is living with a tumour.

Black 13-year-old cross breed Finn is looking for an owner in a quiet home with no other dogs but with someone she can spend the rest of her days with.
