The Uttarakhand Environment Protection and Pollution Control Board (UEPPCB) member secretary Sarada Prasanna Subudhi said that the board is eager to cooperate with industry but the industrial units must observe the pollution control standards. He said this at a meet organised by the Kumaon Garhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) in Kashipur.

Speaking at the meet, Subudhi opined that the industrial enterprises are aware about pollution control and have also made considerable investment for this purpose. However, at times problems have to be faced due to small errors.

He assured members of the KGCCI that the problems raised by them will be resolved soon and necessary cooperation will be provided to the industries.

The KGCCI head Vikas Jindal informed Subudhi about the problems being faced by industrial enterprises. He averred that the industrial sector is alert towards environmental conservation and pollution control.

The latest technologies are being used in the industry to control water and air pollution, despite which the industries are blamed for pollution even as urban environment and vehicles also generate considerable pollution.

The former head of KGCCI, Ashok Bansal said that the UEPPCB provides  consent for one-year period.
