(MENAFN Editorial) News conference set for Wednesday, 12:00pm, Arlington

Jack Burkman, the GOP lobbyist and lawyer involved in controversial causes, was attacked Tuesday night outside his home in Arlington.

At 7:25p, a man pulled up in a black SUV, got out and doused him with a type of pepper spray, causing burns to his face, and struck him in the head. The attacker then sped off.

The attack happened just hours after Burkman released a scathing statement about the judge overseeing the prosecution of Rick Gates, a former Trump deputy campaign manager who has been indicted. In December, Burkman held a fundraiser for Gates.

Burkman also represents former Congressional staffer M. Reese Everson who accused Rep. Bobby Scott of sexually harassing her several years ago. Just last week, Burkman launched a campaign that included train billboards and the website , which asked for information on sitting members of Congress and offered a $10K reward.

Burkman also launched a massive effort to find out who killed Seth Rich, the former DNC staffer who was mysteriously murdered.

Immediately following the attack, Burkman contacted Arlington police and filed a report, case number 2018 01160204.
