As of tomorrow, January 17, 2018, Austrian Airlines will commence the second round of its flight attendant castings in the Austrian federal provinces and in South Tyrol in Italy. After two successful castings held in Linz and Graz in November 2017, the country’s national airline will be looking to hire additional flight attendants in Bolzano, Innsbruck, Salzburg and Linz. The live castings will be held in Bolzano on January 17, 2018, in Innsbruck on January 18, 2018, in Salzburg on January 19, 2018 and in Linz on January 20, 2018. The flight attendants will be stationed at the Vienna Airport flight hub.
Requirements for candidates include a very high customer focus and service-mindedness, a very good command of German and English, a minimum age of 18, successful completion of their school or vocational school education and finally, fulfilment of military or civilian service obligations in the case of male applicants. The annual gross salary in the first year of employment is 21,462 euros plus overtime and expenses. Starting in the thirteenth year, the annual salary equals about 30,000 euros plus overtime and expenses.
On balance, Austrian Airlines is looking to hire 300 new flight attendants for the year 2018. Prospective candidates can choose whether they apply online or whether they would prefer to come directly to a live casting or personally audition for a job. At present Austria’s national flag carrier employs a total of 2,600 flight attendants.
