Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara have arrived with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Ahmedabad's Sabarmati Ashram after a roadshow from the airport. The Israeli premier is trying his hand at weaving khadi on a charkha while Modi appears to teach him how. The two leaders also paid respects before a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi.

Both Prime Ministers will also visit the Centre for Excellence – Vegetables in Vadrad, Gujarat. They will be briefed on the progress in the India-Israel Agriculture Work Plan. They will also e-inaugurate (via video link) the Centre for Excellence – Date Palm, in Kukama. The leaders will also address farmers at various COEs established under the India Israel Agriculture Plan. The leaders also witness the signing of a MoU between COE Vadrad and Farmer’s Producer Organization for establishment of Hi-Tech vegetable seedling production unit.
Today, both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu will visit the iCreate facility located on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. iCreate is an independent centre set up with the objective of facilitating entrepreneurship to deal with issues such as food security, water, connectivity, cybersecurity, IT and electronics, non-conventional energy, bio-medical equipment and devices etc. During the visit, the leaders will take a tour of the facility and visit various stalls that highlight technologies/innovations across fields. The leaders will then address the assembled gathering.

Moshe, who was a toddler when Pakistan-based terrorists killed his parents at Nariman House, appeared visibly moved as he spent almost two hours going around the five-storey building in south Mumbai.
Israeli resident 11-year-old Moshe Holtzberg had kosher food at Nariman House. His grandparents and two uncles, who accompanied him from Israel, were with him during his Nariman House visit. Moshe's Indian nanny Sandra Samuels, who had saved him during the terror attack, was also present. His father Rabbi Gavriel Holtzberg and mother Rivka were killed in Nariman House, which was a terror target during the 26/11 Mumbai attack in 2008. The Jewish couple ran a cultural and outreach centre for the Chabad-Lubavitch movement at the Nariman House in South Mumbai's Colaba area.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will also be presenting PM Narendra Modi with a gift — the Gal-Mobile water desalinisation and purification jeep the two leaders rode at Israel's Olga beach last year. There will be a live demonstration of desalination of sea water that the two prime ministers will witness through video conferencing from the iCreate centre on January 17. The jeep is said to cost around 390,000 shekels (approximately USD 111,000). The two leaders would then proceed for a Sabarkantha-based centre of excellence for agriculture established by Isreal. They will inaugurate a research facility for the cultivation of dates in Kutch by remote control from Sabarkantha.
Ahmedabad, especially the stretch from the airport to the Sabarmati Ashram, has been decked up to welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu along with his wife Sara. Netanyahu would first visit the Sabarmati Ashram and would then go to 'iCreate', an autonomous centre of excellence near Bavla town close to the city. 'iCreate' was formally launched in 2011 by Modi when he was the chief minister. The institution mentors budding entrepreneurs and guides them to set up start-ups, according to an official.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will hold a roadshow, which will begin from the city airport and end at the Sabarmati Ashram, a journey of eight kilometres. Around 50 stages will be erected on the roadside along the stretch and people from different states of the country will welcome Netanyahu. "Cultural programmes will be performed by troupes of different states as well as ethnicity to welcome the guests," Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's standing committee chairman Pravin Patel said. "The Indian Jewish people will also welcome the two leaders," he said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on the fourth day of his trip to India, is in Gujarat where he is set to visit the Sabarmati Ashram today. Netanyahu will be accompanied by PM Narendra Modi. The visiting dignitary will also be attending an event at the International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate) and the Centre of Excellence, Vadrad. Netanyahu will leave for Mumbai after the scheduled visits.
