“The Shannara Chronicles,” the adventure and fantasy series created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, will not return for a third season as Paramount Network has passed on the drama, TheWrap has learned.
The show’s second season aired on Spike TV, which is rebranding as Paramount Network this week, after its first season debuted on MTV. The show was moved as part of Viacom’s restructuring, with Spike airing the entire first season ahead of the second season’s 10-episode run.
“The Shannara Chronicles” comes from executive producer Jon Favreau and Sonar Entertainment and stars Austin Butler, Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, Aaron Jakubenko and Marcus Vanco.

Based on the fantasy series by Terry Brooks, the show was set in the realm of the Four Lands, with the latest season following and an organization called The Crimson that hunted down magic users, using fear and intimidation to sow discord among the races.
