Beloved brother, nephew and uncle


WATERBURY – Bruce A. Lestage, 64, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, at the VITAS Inpatient Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Bruce was born March 17, 1953, in Waterbury, the son of the late Roger and Lydia (Tareila) Lestage. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School and had spent many years working as a short order cook at Friendly’s Restaurant.

Bruce was a sports enthusiast and was passionate about the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees. He was also a music enthusiast and loved to listen to rock music.

What brought the greatest joy to Bruce was spending time with his family and friends.

Among his survivors are his sisters, Susan Ouellette of Wolcott and Carol Bonenfant of Wolcott; as well as his aunt, Dolores Fitzpatrick of Waterbury, with whom he made his home. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

He was predeceased by his two brothers, Roger and Stephen Lestage.

Funeral services for Mr. Lestage will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. from Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 E. Main St. at Southmayd Road, Waterbury, to St. Leo the Great Church, 14 Bentwood Drive, Waterbury, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends and relatives may visit with Bruce’s family on Friday morning at the funeral home, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
