The Guangdong provincial police authorities announced that it had busted a gang making counterfeit bank notes, which was active in five cities in the province. Fifteen suspects have been netted and fake bank notes worth 214 million yuan (US$31.5 million) were confiscated, the biggest seizure by police since the People’s Republic of China was founded in 1949.
