A Kiwi woman who went viral by selling her "excellent condition - unlike my marriage" wedding dress has sold the doomed garment - to a strip club.

The Masterton-based former bride hit the headlines after her sassy ad went viral.

"Wedding dress for sale - worn once by mistake! Please help remove this dress from my life, it no longer means anything to me," it said in the Trade Me ad.

"It is in excellent condition - unlike my marriage - Pretty much brand new and ready for a legit wedding after a practice run back in 2013."

The winning bidder's profile is on behalf or Strip Club company Calendar Girls and also features an ad seeking Hostesses and Promo girls for the Christchurch branch.

The woman who sold the wedding dressed received praise from people around the country, with one person writing: "Best listing EVER!!! Hope you get heaps of $$ and spend it on YOU! Go on....you're worth it."

The dress is
The dress is "made from chiffon and is A-Line with side ruffles. It has an internal back strap and has a beautiful belt added for a touch a sparkle. The back is lace tie so can be adjustable if you fluctuate in size which again is an added bonus!" Photo / Trade Me

Another wrote: "Hey girl - a sense of humour is the best medicine - well done!"

"AWESOME!! Loved reading your auction - what a woman! All the best with your life!"

It appears winning bidder Calendar Girls might not face the same 'ill-fated' luck as the former bride after she "personally hand-washed the bad luck out" of the dress, according to her Trade Me ad.
