More schools closed due to floods in Sarawak

MIRI: Seven primary schools, involving 753 students, in Sarawak are closed today due to the floods.
According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (JBNS), two more schools – Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Genaan and SK Bukit Balai, both in the district of Sebauh, Bintulu, – were closed today, from only five yesterday.
The five schools which were closed since Monday included SK Sungai Bong,SK Kuala Bok and SK Rumah Ranggong, all in Miri.
The two other schools are SK Kuala Kenyana in Mukah and SK Nanga Bon in Sibu, it said in a statement today.
It said 16 primary schools, comprising 10 in Miri, five in Sibu and one in Bintulu, were also affected by the floods, but still operating as usual. — Bernama
