Mumbai: 28-year-old accused Amit Hazra wanted to date Arpita Tiwari, claims police

Mumbai: The 28-year-old accused Amit Hazra, arrested in emcee Arpita Tiwari murder case, was interested in her despite she was not showing any interest to date him, claimed Malwani police.

In a bid to connect all the dots, Tiwari’s boyfriend was called to the police station on Tuesday. “Her (Arpita’s) boyfriend was asked multiple questions related to their relationship,” added a senior officer. Based on his response, the interrogators are posing several questions to Hazra who was arrested on Monday after he failed in polygraph test conducted at Directorate of Forensic Science Laboratory, Kalina.

On December 11, Tiwari’s partly covered body was found at an elite building in Malad. Her relatives and friends have been accusing five men, including her boyfriend, of pushing her out of window of the 15th floor flat at Malad’s Manavsthal apartment. Another officer claimed, “The chances are that following altercation, Hazra pushed her out of the window from the bathroom window of 15th floor. We are checking if Tiwari and Hazra had an argument on December 10 night.”
