Kapil Mishra, BJP MLA marshalled out of House

| | New Delhis

On the second day of the Delhi Assembly Session on Tuesday, suspended AAP leader and former Minister Kapil Mishra was marshalled out on the orders of the Speaker for lampooning Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. BJP MLA from Rajauri Garden seat Manjinder Singh Sirsa too was marshalled out for “obstructing” the Assembly staff taking Mishra out of the House and the issue was referred to the Privilege Committee of the House.

As the proceedings began, Mishra held up a poster bearing an image of AAP’s RS member Sushil Gupta holding a snake with Kejriwal’s face photoshopped on it. The Speaker objected to it and ordered him to be marshalled out. Sirsa came up to Mishra’s defence even as the marshals were taking Mishra out. This drew Speaker’s ire who ordered that Sirsa be taken out too.

“I am forwarding the matter of Sirsa trying to obstruct the marshals to the Privilege Committee of the House,” the Speaker ruled. Sirsa later told reporters outside the House that he was not blocking the marshals but merely asking Mishra to go out.
