The newly elected mayor of Rangpur City Corporation will be sworn in today.
The Jatiya Party (JP)-backed candidate Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa defeated Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu of ruling Awami League (AL) in the polls held on December 21 last year.
Akhtar Hossain, chief executive officer of Rangpur city corporation, quoting a letter, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will administer the oath at her office at 6:00pm.
