RANGAMATI, Jan 16: A seminar titled 'Peaceful use of atomic energy' was held at district administration conference room on Tuesday.
The district administration and the National Academy of Science and Technology Museum organised the seminar.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Manzarul Mannan was present at the programme as chief guest.
Chief Scientific Officer of Ruppur Nuclear Power Plant Building Project Dr. AFM Mizanur Rahman presented the keynote paper.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Md Nazrul Islam chaired the programme.
Among others, Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Information Technology Md. Abdus Salam, Assistant Curator of National Academy of Science and Technology Museum SM Sobhan Hannan, Lecturer of Rangamati Science and Technology University Dhiman Sharma were also present on the occasion.
DC Mohammad Manzarul Mannan said, "We should focus on science-based education for our next generation to build them as citizens of the 21st century. In this connection, we should properly use the atomic energy."
Later, a quiz competition was held where 12 educational institutions of the district participated.
