BARISAL, Jan 16: Barisal Divisional office of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) trapped a staff of land settlement office on Monday noon and recovered bribe money from him.
Director of ACC in Barisal Abu Sayed confirmed the fact and said the land settlement office staff Faruque Hossen, son of Hanif Mridha, of Gusinga Village under Bauphal Upazila of Patuakhali District, was later handed over to police.
Deputy Director of ACC, Barisal office, Md. Sifat Uddin lodged a case in this connection with Wazirpur Police Station.
ACC Barisal Divisional Office Director Abu Sayed alleged that Faruque Hossen received Tk 30,000 in a land settlement case from one Nazem Ali Hawlader, of Baherhat Village under Wazirpur Upazila. As he demanded more Tk 10,000 from Nazem, he informed the matter to local ACC authority.
