New Delhi, Jan 16: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who is known for keeping his cool at the toughest of moments, landed himself in a controversy after a video clip of him slapping his bodyguard surfaced on social media on Tuesday. The incident reportedly took place on Monday when Chouhan was campaigning in Sardarpur town ahead of the municipal elections, which are scheduled to take place on January 17.

Though the reason behind CM’s anger is not known, some of the locals claim that his bodyguard was continuously nudging him which left the latter infuriated. (Also Read:  Shivraj Singh Chouhan Defends His ‘MP Roads Better Than US’ Remark)

As soon the news of the incident hit the headlines, Congress spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi hit out at MP CM on Twitter saying,”The Chief Minister has slapped a policeman. Why a case of obstructing a Public Servant is not being registered against the leader of a party which keeps harping on morality?”

“Sceptical of a possible defeat in civic polls stressed out CM slaps his security guard,” Chaturvedi tweeted further.

Arun Yadav, Congress’ MP chief also attacked Chouhan on micro-blogging site and said, “CM and BJP workers manhandle police jawan publically which clearly shows the concern of the CM owing to the growing clout of Congress.”

However, this is not the first time Chouhan had triggered controversy. Last year the MP CM under fire from political leaders after he claimed that roads in MP are better than those in the US.
