Chorus for ‘Solution Not Election’

With elections just round the corner , the chorus for ‘solution not election’ made in 1998 is being replayed, with various organisations calling for postponement of the 2018 assembly election. The organisations through separate representations to the Prime Minister and government of India, have expressed their views on the need to withhold the assembly polls in anticipation of early solution to the Naga political issue. The state legislature had on December 15 adopted a resolution urging the government of India to postpone elections in favour of solution.
NTC: Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) has urged upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi for postponement of the state Assembly polls till a final solution to the Naga political issue was found.
ACAUT: ACAUT Nagaland has joined the league of those seeking postponement of Assembly election scheduled in the State in the first quarter of this year.
