MASHANTUCKET - According to a Monday press release from Foxwoods Resort Casino, total slot machine revenue is up by more than 10 percent for the month of December, compared to the same time last year.
The casino reported slot revenue of $39 million for December 2017, up 10.7 percent from December 2016, when revenue stood at $35.5 million, according to a press release.
The casino’s handle, or total amount collected before player payouts, is reported for the month of December at $480.4 million, an increase of $14.7 million, or 3.1 percent, from the December 2016 handle of $465.7 million.
Foxwoods’ contribution of the state’s special revenue fund stood at $9.9 million for the month of October.
Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has contributed more than $4 billion in slot revenue to the state economy through the Mashantucket Pequot Fund, according to the press release.
