Michael Peña wants to be clear. He neither confirmed nor hinted at an upcoming Ant-Man 3 movie as reported on movie sites last week.

"I read some of those things. And it says I 'hint at an Ant-Man 3.' I have no idea," says Peña, who watched as the apparent confirmation news spread online. "If there is an Ant-Man 3, it would be great to be in it. That’s all I said."

Peña played friend Luis opposite Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang/Ant-Man in 2015's Marvel hit Ant-Man and will reprise the role in Ant-Man and the Wasp which opens July 6.

But Peña says he's in the dark like the fans about the inner-workings of Marvel Studios and president Kevin Feige's sequel plans.

"I don’t work at Marvel. I’m not part of the studio. And I don’t have the money to fund the movie. I wish I had $150 million around, you know," says Peña. "It's like, one of the supporting (Ant-Man) characters would say, 'Yup, there’s going to be a third (movie).' Like I have the information, more than Kevin (Feige). That would be really, really funny."

Marvel information is closely guarded, Peña insists.

"It’s like on sequels, we don’t know anything. They keep it under wraps man. They really do," he says.

As to whether there are discussions for a third movie, Peña says he wasn't alluding to any in that past interview. Nor would he.

"Even if there were discussions, I wouldn’t say anything. That (interview mention) was clearly hypothetical," Pena adds. "I'd imagine if the second movie is a smash hit, then they would think about having a third one."

Next up for Peña is a role in as a Green Beret in 12 Strong (opening Friday) where he had to struggle on horseback.

12 Strong star and Thor actor Chris Hemsworth dubbed Peña the worst horse rider onset. And horse newbie Peña copped to one wild ride where his horse bolted.

"You’re in survival mode, trying not to fall off. Your life flashes before your eyes," Peña says. "I was like, 'Whooaa!' But who knows? I might not have even been really going 10 miles per hour."
