Two East Bay women were arrested on allegations they broke into a display case to steal Apple merchandise in San Rafael.

The incident occurred Friday at the Target store on Shoreline Parkway, said San Rafael police Cpl. Rob Cleland. The women allegedly used a tool to break into the electronics case, loaded a bag with products and fled out the back exit.

A security guard got the license plate number on the suspects’ vehicle, and police matched it to Allure Lasean Destiny Breaux, 18, of Bay Point. Other Target stores were alerted about the burglary.

On Sunday, police detained Breaux and another Bay Point woman, 22-year-old Justyce Beatrice Scott, after they were spotted apparently casing the electronics department of a Target in Fremont, Cleland said.

Fremont police called San Rafael police, who came and arrested the women on suspicion of burglary and vandalism. Both suspects remained in custody at the Marin County Jail on Monday in lieu of $50,000 bail.
