BETHEL — The state recently completed a $2.3 million expansion of the Metro North train station parking lot.
The project, which added about 130 parking spots to the lot, is finished, with the exception of the parking kiosk and some signs, according to a post on the town’s website. Poor weather has delayed the installation of the concrete pad needed for the kiosk.
Until the kiosk is installed, daily parking will be free. Daily parking is available to the left of the lot facing the station. The spots are numbered and signs have been installed in anticipation of the kiosk.
Once the kiosk is available, drivers will have to pay $0.25 an hour. This is the same fee as before the expansion, according to the post. Commuters will soon be able to pay through a smartphone app.
Annual permits are also available at $250. To receive a permit, contact Eileen Jelinski at 203-794-8506 or jelinskie@bethel-ct.gov.
