Coronation Street legend SLAMS ITV soap amid 662 fan complaints: ‘I can’t watch that s***’
CORONATION STREET sparked complaints with its “violent” scenes earlier this month, and now one former cast member has said they can no longer watch the long-running soap.
Bruce Jones, who portrayed Les Battersby up until 2007, has said he was left horrified by the scenes involving killer Pat Phelan and Luke Britton.
The villain (played by Connor McIntyre) was seen shooting Dean Fagan’s alter ego before burning him alive, after believing he knew too much about his dealings.

The violence when I was there wasn't as bad as that. I just don't know why it's gone that way
Bruce Jones
The soap star continued: “The violence when I was there wasn't as bad as that. I just don't know why it's gone that way. I can't watch it anymore because it's too violent.
"It's terrible. People said to me, ‘I’m not watching anymore’. They say to me, 'Did you watch that s*** last night?’”
Bruce went on to add: “They call it ’s***’ and I went no, I watched some of it and turned it off. It's no good complaining to me, I can't do anything,” during an interview with The Sun.
Acknowledging that Weatherfield has also had it’s fair share of grisly murders, he addressed the likes of the Richard Hillman (Brian Capron) storyline.
