RITTMAN — Edward Douglas "Doug" Miller, 74, of Rittman, died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at Autumnwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, after a brief illness.

He was born March 7, 1943, in Marietta to the late Marion and Mildred (Morgenstern) Miller and had lived in Rittman for the past 20 years.

Doug graduated from Salem Liberty High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was Methodist by faith and enjoyed reading. He was an avid Cleveland and Ohio State Buckeyes sports fan.

Surviving are his sister-in-law, Cheryl Miller of Rittman; a nephew, James (Karey) Miller of Sterling; nieces, Terri Marks of Rittman and Teresa (Brian) Abbott of Parkersburg, W.Va.; great-nieces, Makenna, Laken (Cody) Shook and Madison Carpenter; great-nephews, Jaxon, Joseph, Luke and Tyler; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Michael Miller.

Services will be Saturday, Jan. 20 at noon at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Drive, Rittman, with pastor Ruthie Trigg officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-noon prior to the services. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date.
