WOODBURY — The 9th annual “Live, Laugh then Putt” Indoor Mini-Golf fundraiser will be held Feb. 16-19 at the Woodbury Senior Community Center, with proceeds supporting the Woodbury Community Services’ Food Bank, Fuel and Crisis Assistance Programs.

The friendly activity was created to bring the community together during the winter for a good cause. The challenging 9-hole course was redesigned last year by longtime former Woodbury resident Charles Bartlett, along with a group of handy volunteers.

The course offers new and different challenges guaranteed to entertain participants of all ages. Parents and grandparents are encouraged to round up their children/grandchildren or, for those who belong to an organization, groups of coworkers, friends, students and acquaintances are welcome to play in teams of four.

The cost for children 10 and under when accompanied by an adult is $2, seniors or adults with a child, $3, and teens adults, $4. Hours for the fundraiser are Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16-17, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 18, 12-6 p.m., and Monday, Feb. 19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday is President’s Day, and since children have the day off, “It’s a perfect activity to entertain the kids when they are off from school,” event organizers said in a statement. “All community members, organizations, youth, teens, adults, grandparents and seniors are encouraged to attend.”

The Friends of the Woodbury Senior Community Center will also hold a bake sale, providing a variety of home-baked goodies, fresh popcorn and beverages for a nominal fee.

The net proceeds from last year’s event totaled $1,200 and were donated to the Community Services Council of Woodbury, providing neighbors in need with assistance for fundamental food and energy needs, as well as an essential safety net in times of personal and financial crisis. In addition, the Friends bake sale raised more than $200, last year which helped augment the purchase of a commercial grade floor cleaner for the center. The goal for this year’s event is to raise funds for the Senior Community Center’s Café Acoustics Project.
